"A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost." ~Marion C. Garretty

"Now I'm Cool!"

I was very good about documenting Ava's first year of life, but then I slacked off. Everyday the kids say and do things and Trey and I say, "we should write this down" and we don't, and then we forget what it was. I wish I'd been doing this all along, but I'm excited to have this blog so I can start remembering those things now!

It's only 9:30 a.m. on a Sat. morn, and already Isabel is sticky and wet because she pulled my first cup of coffee off the table on top of her. Was it hot, you wonder? Of course not, sometimes it takes me 2 hours and several reheats in the microwave to finish a cup because I get so distracted. ( I inherited this from someone else in my family- you know who you are!) Here's why the coffee was cold this morning: I had to rehang a picture that my little tornado pulled off the wall and retrieve a magnet out of the potty (after big sister just used it).

But then just when I feel like I'm going backwards instead of forwards, one of them says something that makes me stop and think, "wow! they're growing up!" For example, this also happened this morning:

As she was getting dressed, Ava brought me a bandana and wanted to wear it on her head like Aunt Leah. Then she patted her head and said "the boys are gonna like me because now I'm cool!!"
