She arrived on January 26, 2010 at 3:18 p.m. Weight: 7lbs 12oz Length: 21 in.
Here is brand new Sophia Marie just minutes old.
First of many precious baby smiles!
The hospital had strict rules about visitors and when the baby could leave the room, so our family had to wait a long time to see her. Here is Trey attempting to sneak Sophia out and due to his irristable charm and wit, the nurses let him get away with it!
It's hard to see, but behind the glass window are Ava, Isabel and the Lovelis cousins getting their first view of Sophia.
Aunt Lauren and Aunt Vallie traveled together from Little Rock. Unaware of the visitor rule, they were right outside the door as Sophia was born. The nurses sent them back to the waiting room, but not before they heard her first cries!
Here are the aunts busy spreading the news. I love these pics and snagged them from Lauren's blog:
Hendrix grandparents
The two proud Granddaddy's (wonder if they've just made a bet as to who can feed her the most sweets by the time she's one?) Trey's Daddy will want to give her a sip of his Dr. Pepper. My dad will later ask if he can dip his finger in a little sugar and let her suck on it!
Lauren, Trey, Commie and Big Daddy
The Clark Grandparents
Aunt Julia and Leah
Maw and Paw
Trey always fills out the birth certificate paperwork for our babies (and any other tasks that require a well-functioning brain which I didn't have for weeks before the birth and sure not after!)

Going home
Going home
Look at the adorable door hanging Valerie made for us! We got lots of compliments on it- so cute!
First night home.
Thanks to everyone who came to visit us at the hospital and at home and to all our friends and family who brought meals and goodies for Ava and Isabel. We appreciate your thoughtfulness, encouragement and love during this special and exciting time! A very big thank-you to Aunt Julia for being "on-call" for the past couple of weeks and coming to our house to keep Ava and Isabel when we rushed to the hospital Tues. morning. She sure made things easier on us! Also, thanks to Commie and Mom for keeping the girls so Trey and I could have some quiet time with Sophia. And to Elizabeth for coming to stay with us, cooking, cleaning and babysitting. And for getting up with Sophia in the middle of the night so we could sleep!
