"A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost." ~Marion C. Garretty

Lucky us!

March 17, 2010:  Trey told me he had some St. Patrick's Day goodies for the girls and wanted to have a little party for them before he went to work. He brought them pencils, party hats, gold coins and blowers. He gave me the idea to use green food coloring so we had green milk and green pancakes. No, green eggs though!
Aren't they LUCKY to have such a FUN DADDY!!

nobody will be pinching Trey today!

Even Ava's milk mustache is green!

Ava showing off her new socks from Aunt Lauren, who came to visit us on Monday.  Aunt Lauren also gave them the necklaces and shamrock sticker tattoos.

Look carefully. . . yes that is a box of FOOD COLORING in Isabel's hand! She's hoping I won't notice and she can sneak off under the table and eat them!

This is one festive girl! She rounded up a green marker and a green duck call! Hmmm. . . . I'd better keep a very close eye on her today!

Recent things I've been told and have overheard:

  • "I don't need this jump-jump, this bed, these toys, books, NOTHING! I'm just gonna go live outside with the coyotes!" (Ava talking to herself in her room. She's gotten in trouble earlier for fussing with Isabel when Aunt Lauren was here and was definitely feeling sorry for herself!) 3-15-2010

  • "Mom- Here's the deal. Everything would be FINE if there were NO SISTERS."(A very serious Ava, the next morning. She'd obviously thought long and hard about it and came up with this solution!) 3-16-2010

  • "I'm just gonna tell her 'Isabel, I need a moment with mommy'" (Ava talking to herself about how to get more attention) 3-16-2010

  • "Dear God. . .  Please let Isabel not be jealous and let me not kick Sophia's bed." (In Ava's prayer) 3-17-2010

  2. "Next time, Isabel is going to spend the day with Aunt Leah" Ava when coming home to find that I popped in for a visit but missed her!
Isabel playing in the other room said "I go to Aunt Leah!!!"
