Valentine's Day surprise!

Feb. 14, 2010:  After church and lunch, we had a Valentine's party. Trey is the sweetest Daddy (and husband.) He always gives us each a card and a gift for Valentine's Day!

Ava chose this little frog for Isabel. She didn't know it at the time but we discovered it plays the "Move It" song from Madagascar! That's one of their favorites and they've been "movin' it" ever since! It's gonna be a sad day when that little frog's battery dies.
Even baby Sophia got a Valentine from Daddy!

The girls are looking at all the Valentine's they've collected in their mailboxes.
3 hours and about 30 degrees later (same day)!!
I looked outside to see the biggest, fluffiest snowflakes I've ever seen! Trey and the girls were napping, so I woke them all up and of course they bundled up and headed out to play in it. It looked like a snowglobe outside our window! We couldn't believe just a couple hours ago we were outside without coats!
Here's Ava about to fire a snowball right at me!

Later that afternoon we packed up and went to my parent's to spend the night. The next day my Dad saddled up Cisco for the girls. I got him when he was 3 years old and I was a junior in high school.  He is so sweet and gentle with little kids. I LOVE seeing my girls on horseback.  I was your typical horse-crazy young girl. I collected Breyer model horses, read "My Friend Flicka" and the "Black Stallion" instead of teen magazines and wanted to be a jockey after watching "National Velvet!" I came in from school almost everyday and saddled up.  I remember hugging Cisco and promising him, "I'll never let a boy become more important than you!" How times have changed! No, I'm not still horse crazy, but it's so neat to see my kids take an interest in things that are important to me.
I wore that same Care Bear hat on the farm when I was little!
Isabel's first time to ride a "nay-nay!"

  1. Granddaddy is having a ball, too...it de-stresses him to play with his precious GRANDS!
