Another quick update (and still no pictures)

April 5, 2010: This past month has been really fun. Spring is here!! There are patches of yellow, pink, purple and white everywhere I look.  Trey has been landscaping our yard. It is incredible what he's done in what little free time he has. He has a talent for growing things, like knowing where to place each plant or tree so it gets just the right amount of light each day. I can't wait to see the finished product.  He planted lots of buttercups, and some cherry blossoms and dogwoods last year that have been blooming all around the house. And, sweetheart that he is, he's always bringing in flowers to brighten up our house (and my day!) He told me one time he used to make his mom wreaths out of redbud branches, he's always loved flowers and lucky for me he didn't outgrow it!

This month has been a very social one! (Well, they all are, for that matter.) We have such wonderful family and friends! We are surrounded by love and support. So much has happened I want to write about. Before I can post pics from one special occasion, something else happens!  We went to Antoine for two weekends.  There was a "Welcome Baby Sophia" tea party. My wonderful Grandparents visited us from Searcy.  Commie and Big Daddy came over and cooked for us. Kenny and Amanda and Aunt Julia spent an evening playing with the girls:  face-painting, playing cards and just running wild around the house!  And then Easter weekend came, so I have a lot of catching up to do. But that's ok, I'll post my Easter pics in a month or so, when all the other moms are posting theirs too!

Sophia is two months old. At her two month checkup she weighed 13 lbs 2 oz. That's in the 97th percentile for her age!! She's smiling now and it is the most precious thing!  I remember with the other girls, I thought each stage was my favorite. And it's that way with Sophia. I didn't want to leave the newborn stage- but now that she's getting a little personality - it's so fun and I love this age. She loves seeing her big sisters. They make her smile. Ava sits by her and keeps her company if I'm busy. She reads to her and makes funny faces. And Isabel, my little songbird, loves to sing to her.

Isabel is saying the funniest things, like "OH MY WORD!" And I've been teaching her about opposites. So she'll say, " I know my op-PO-sites." And if she feels like it she'll answer questions about opposites (hot, cold, big, little, boy, girl, short, tall, and up and down) but if she's in a silly mood, she'll say the opposite of hot is tall, etc. We never know what to expect.

And Ava is just a big 5 year old who continues to amaze us. She's incredibly sweet, writing me notes and drawing pics that say "to Mommy Love, Ava" and then hiding them for me to find. She says she's gonna be "a police" when she grows up. (that's so random, I don't know where that came from.) She's riding her bike, doing flips on the swingset, learning to hit a softball, loves going fishing, reading lots of words and writing. So, that's my condensed update for now! HAPPY SPRING!!
