May 2011: One of my favorite things about living in the Natural State, you don't have to go far to find a beautiful get-away when it's vacation time. Our family loves the outdoors and visiting state parks, and we have a "gem" just a half-hour from our house. So, this 3-day weekend, we did something we've never done. We borrowed Trey's parent's camper and spent the weekend in a camper at Lake Greeson! It turned out to be an absolutely perfect time! We met a lot of really nice people. And to make it even more special, Trey's parents spent part of the weekend camping too. Also, my parents and Maw and Paw came to visit. We hope to do it again next summer!
This is how Isabel dressed herself to go camping!!!
Making castles out of rocks, sticks and leaves!
Coleen brought Maw and Paw to enjoy the afternoon by the lake.
Sophia was content to just sit and dig in the gravel.
As we relaxed and enjoyed our vacation, we kept in mind what Memorial Day stands for. Now that I'm a mom, I appreciate more than ever this great country and the freedoms we have! I'm so thankful our family can have fun times like this without fear. I wish that were possible for all families across the world!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
